About
Every small business deserves the same financial insight the big ones get.

Angie, CEO & CFO of Starflower Bookkeeping
My story
For years I sat in the CFO seat of a 7-figure construction company. That means I've lived inside the numbers that keep a real, growing business alive: cash flow, job costing, payroll, taxes, and the hundred decisions that ride on knowing where you actually stand.
I came up in the construction world, managing people and money on projects where a single mispriced job can wipe out a good quarter. I learned that clean books aren't the goal. They're the starting line. The real value is what the numbers tell you: which jobs make money, where cash is leaking, and what's coming before it lands on you.
Along the way I kept meeting hardworking contractors and small business owners who had someone recording their numbers, but nobody helping them understand what those numbers meant. They deserved better information than they were getting, and most had simply never been shown what good bookkeeping can do for a business.
So I started Starflower Bookkeeping, where I'm the CEO and CFO. Same financial oversight I brought to a 7-figure construction company, sized and priced for yours. I work fully remote from Liberty, Missouri, in the Kansas City metro, with clients in AR, CO, FL, IA, KS, MO, NE, OK, PA, TN, and TX.
More than a bookkeeper: a third-party office manager
My clients don't just hand me receipts. They call me when a vendor question comes up, when they're weighing a hire, when the CPA needs something, or when they just need someone who understands the business to think it through with them. Consider me the office manager you can reach for anything business related.
The team
Starflower is a family business, literally
I named this business for something that grows, and that wasn't an accident. My daughters and my granddaughter are why I built something of my own, and the next generation is already learning the books.

Katie
Bookkeeper & Office Manager
My daughter Katie works with me full time, keeping client books current and the day to day running smoothly. When you reach out, there's a good chance she's the one who gets you sorted.

Riley
Bookkeeper
My daughter Riley works with us part time on the books. Between the three of us, someone who knows your account is always close by.

Stella
Bookkeeper in Training & Part Owner
My granddaughter Stella is a part owner and my bookkeeper in training. She's curious about how businesses work and loves learning the why behind the numbers, which is the best place any bookkeeper can start.

Plain English
I explain what your numbers mean without the jargon, and I'm always happy to answer the question you think you should already know.
A step ahead
I keep an eye out for problems early, so we can talk about them while they're still small and easy to solve.
In your corner
I work alongside your CPA and think of myself as part of your team, not an outside data-entry service.
